Zendai Development South Africa
Zendai’s recent acquisition of a 1 600 ha land parcel in Modderfontein is its first real estate venture in South Africa. The site has also been identified as a base for the Zendai Group to headquarter future expansion in South Africa and other countries in Africa.
Zendai Group’s vision is to create unique landmarks and in so doing transform Modderfontein into an international cosmopolitan asset with cultural and art elements. Investment of an estimated R 84 billion (over the next 15 to 20 years) will see Zendai’s vision realised.
Zendai offers prime land in Johannesburg which will allow for commercial, industrial and residential development. The landholding includes a number of commercial and industrial buildings to let in Modderfontein.
The Zendai Development Plan caters for various functional development areas which will contribute to their goal of creating a sustainable development focused on environmental responsibility and economic prosperity. The Modderfontein Development Plan is supported by an existing and future transport network.
It is estimated that (on completion) the development will create 200,000 jobs, cater for 100,000 residents and allow for the development of approximately 13 million m2.
Strategically located with easy access to highways and main transport routes – the site is 20 km’s from the Johannesburg CBD, 8 km’s from OR Tambo International Airport and 7 km’s from Sandton CBD. The state-of-the-art Gautrain rapid rail network is in operation and connects Modderfontein to the Johannesburg CBD, Sandton, Pretoria and the airport; development plans for the site include a Gautrain station in Modderfontein.
